Matthew Metcalf, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney

Matt is a Crestview High School graduate who went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Business Economics from Ohio University, before graduating from University of Akron School of Law in 2018. He earned these degrees while proudly serving in the Ohio Air National Guard for eight years where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Matt began his legal career as an assistant prosecutor in Richland County doing primarily criminal work. In 2023, Matt was promoted to Chief of the Criminal Division in Richland County handling many of the county’s most serious felonies. He has successfully prosecuted over a thousand felony cases including several murders.

For the last year Matt served as a Magistrate for Richland County Domestic Relations Court. Matt is an avid hunter and devout Cleveland sports fan.
